Student Transportation - ECSD Transportation Services

Transportation for the 2024-2025 School Year

All current AJM students taking yellow bussing will be rolled over from this current school year 2023-24 to the 2024-25 school year.

The only students that need to apply for transportation for the 2024-25 school year are the students that are moving from the school they currently attend to a new school for the 2024-25 school year, or the students that are moving home addresses and secondary addresses. The due date for applications or changes is May 24 , 2024, to be effective for the first day of school.

ETS

Last school year, the division implemented Arc bus passes, the Edmonton region’s new fare payment system, in
collaboration with Edmonton Transit. It is a reusable card that the students will hold on to for as long as they ride Edmonton Transit. This system is monitored and controlled by Edmonton Transit, not Edmonton Catholic Schools.

Should your child or children require one, please purchase through your parent Powerschool. Your child will receive the card from the office. After receiving the card, please register your new card by going to your MyArc.ca account and adding the new card. Lastly, you will need to provide the Arc card to the school to attach to your child's account with the school.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU…

· Online Monthly ARC card reload needs to be purchased through Parent PowerSchool prior to the ending of the month. ARC takes 48 hours to load the card from time of payment.

· ARC cards need to be registered by parents or the students on Myarc.ca, this secures your loaded funds if you happen to lose your card. Funds can be transferred to a new ARC Card. ARC takes up to 48 hours to load the card from time the card is registered at the school.

· Students will need to tap their card ON and OFF the bus.

· Cash payment cannot be taken. You can pay interact or credit card online through your PowerSchool fees.

· No monthly purchase will be available after the 15th of the month.

If your child loses their card:

Mark the original card as lost or stolen through your MyArc account and then contact the school to receive a replacement card. You will need to register your new card as you did the original, by going to your MyArc.ca account and adding the new card once you have already removed the original. It may take up to 48 hours after your card has been both registered through MyArc.ca and with the school for the card to work on the bus.

Arc Cards: Reloads are available after the 15th of each month. Please ensure your students know to purchase the reload beforehand so the card is ready for the start of the following month. Remember there will always be a 48-hour transfer of funds period that begins at the time of purchase.

ETS Concerns: ETS operators have been advised to accept students if their Arc cards malfunction. However, if a student is refused boarding an ETS bus, the family must contact 311 by phone or online with details of the incident, including location, time, driver description, and route number, so the City of Edmonton can effectively track and address any service concerns.
